New Sony Alpha Cameras Coming

Sony has two new additions to its Alpha series of mirrorless cameras, the Alpha 6600 and Alpha 6100.

The Alpha 6600 is designed to address the needs of demanding photographers and videographers, whereas the Alpha 6100 is targeted at users who want to produce high-quality photos and videos with interchangeable-lenses. Both cameras include a 24.2MP Exmor CMOS image sensor, the latest Bionz X image processor and a front-end LSI implemented in Sony’s full-frame cameras. These combine to deliver all-around enhancements in image quality and performance for photo and video capture.

The A6100 will be available in October, and the A6600 will come in November. Pre-orders for cameras are now available in store.

Sony will also release two lightweight E-mount lenses that are compatible with these cameras and its other APS-C cameras: a standard zoom E 16-55mm (F/2.8) and telephoto zoom E 70-355mm with a variable f/4.5-6.3.
